I have spent the last 2 months investigating the most efficient contract management software and am still not convinced as to which way to go. A colleague of mine used to work at WCGI, Inc. in Vashon, WA and he said they never used that type of software and could not understand why I want to get this type of software. I tried to discuss why I would like to use contract management software by first explaining what the software does:

Contract management software enables enterprises to effectively manage the different types of contracts they utilise. This kind of software can ensure standard contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is basically what contract management software does or at a minimum what I am looking for it to do. There are a number of reasons for using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• increases compliance on both sides
• reduces the risk
• provides clarity

There are more benefits but those are what matters most to me and often to other businesses.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Finetooth
• Contract Insight
• Blueridge Software
• Accruent

I really should reduce the list to the top software based on features, value, and then on user reviews. Software reviews are frequently the quickest way to make a good decision before buying software, especially this type of software.

My plan is to do a bit more investigating to work out which programs offer the greatest features and the best value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Vashon as well as a number of IT businesses giving this as a service.
