I have spent the last couple of months investigating the most reliable contract management software and am still not convinced as to which program to buy. A colleague of mine briefly worked at Serco Management Service in Tumwater, WA and he once said they never used that kind of software and could not understand why I want to get this type of software. I tried to explain why I need to use contract management software by first explaining what the software is designed for:

Contract management software lets organisations to efficiently manage the different types of contracts they utilise. This specific type of software can ensure standard contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at a minimum what I am looking for it to do. There are numerous advantages of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides contract clarity

There are other advantages but they are what matters most to me and generally to other businesses.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Open Windows
• IntelliContract
• Softrax
• ProCon

I really must reduce the list to the top software based on features, value, and then on user reviews. Product reviews are often the easiest way to make the right decision before buying software, especially such important software.

My plan is to do a bit more reading to work out which products offer the greatest features and the best value for money. It is quite difficult seeing as there are quite a lot of contract management software providers in Tumwater as well as a number of IT businesses providing this as a service.
