I have spent the last 2 months searching for the most efficient contract management software and am still unsure as to which way to go. A friend of mine briefly worked at Santa Clara County – West Area, Roads Ops Administration, Roads & Airports Dept in San Jose, CA and he once said they never used that kind of software and could not understand why I want to buy this type of software. I tried to show why I need to use contract management software by first showing what the software is designed for:

Contract management software allows organisations to easily manage the different types of contracts they use. This kind of software can ensure very consistent contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is what contract management software does or at a minimum what I would like it to do. There are a number of reasons for using particular contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides clarity

There are further advantages but these are what matters most to me and often to other organisations.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Contract Insight
• Softrax
• Memba Context

I really must shorten the list to the best software based on features, price, and then on online reviews. Software reviews are generally the best way to make a good decision before purchasing software, especially such important software.

My plan is to do some more reading to see which products offer the best features and the most value for money. It is difficult seeing as there are so many contract management software providers in San Jose as well as a number of IT companies providing this as a service.
