I have spent the last 2 months investigating the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which product to get. A relative of mine worked at Stinson Airport in San Antonio, TX and he once said they never used that type of software and could not comprehend why I want to buy this type of software. I tried to discuss why I would like to use contract management software by first explaining what the software is designed for:

Contract management software lets organisations to efficiently manage the many types of contracts they utilise. This kind of software can ensure standard contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at a minimum what I am looking for it to do. There are numerous benefits of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• facilitates compliance on both sides
• lowers risk
• provides contract clarity

There are other benefits but they are what matters most to me and frequently to other organisations.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Open Windows
• Contract Insight
• Ketera Contract Management Express
• ProCon

I really have to reduce the list to the top software based on features, value, and then on customer reviews. Product reviews are frequently the quickest way to make a final decision before purchasing software, especially this type of software.

My plan is to do some more research to work out which packages offer the most features and the most value for money. It is quite difficult seeing as there are quite a lot of contract management software providers in San Antonio as well as a number of IT businesses providing this as a service.
