I have spent the last couple of months searching for the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which program to buy. A colleague of mine briefly worked at Minneapolis-St Paul Int’L Airport – Lindbergh Terminal, Airport Lost & Found in Saint Paul, MN and she said they never used that style of software and could not make sense of why I want to purchase this specific type of software. I tried to discuss why I want to use contract management software by first explaining what the software does:

Contract management software enables companies to effectively manage the various types of contracts they engage in. This type of software can ensure very consistent contracts which shows payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at least what I am looking for it to do. There are a number of advantages of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• easily automates the contract cycle
• increases compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides clarity

There are more advantages but they are what matters most to me and often to other businesses.

Software I am researching includes the following:

• Finetooth
• Contract Insight
• Softrax
• ProCon

I really should shorten the list to the most effective software based on features, value, and then on customer reviews. Software reviews are frequently the quickest way to make the right decision before downloading software, especially such important software.

My plan is to do a bit more reading to work out which programs offer the best features and the most value for money. It is difficult seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Saint Paul as well as a number of IT businesses providing this as a service.
