I have spent the last few months looking for the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which product to get. A friend of mine briefly worked at Carothers Construction Hanger in Oxford, MS and she said they never used that type of software and could not make sense of why I want to get this type of software. I tried to discuss why I want to use contract management software by first discussing what the software is used for:

Contract management software lets companies to easily manage the various types of contracts they engage in. This specific type of software can ensure standard contracts which shows payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is what contract management software does or at least what I would like it to do. There are a number of benefits of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• automates the contract cycle
• increases compliance on both sides
• reduces the risk
• provides clarity

There are more advantages but these are what matters most to me and frequently to other corporations.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Open Windows
• Contract Insight
• Softrax
• ProCon

I really must reduce the list to the most effective software based on features, value, and then on user reviews. Product reviews are often the quickest way to make the right decision before buying software, especially this kind of software.

My next step is to do a bit more reading to see which packages offer the most features and the most value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Oxford as well as a number of IT organisations providing this as a service.
