I have spent the last 2 months investigating the most efficient contract management software and am still not convinced as to which program to buy. A colleague of mine used to work at Ontonagon County Airport – Paystation in Ontonagon, MI and he said they never used that style of software and could not understand why I want to purchase this type of software. I tried to show why I want to use contract management software by first explaining what the software is used for:

Contract management software enables organisations to effectively manage the various types of contracts they utilise. This specific type of software can ensure standard contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is basically what contract management software does or at least what I want it to do. There are a number of reasons for using particular contract management software. For example it:

• easily automates the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides clarity

There are other benefits but these are what matters most to me and frequently to other corporations.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Contract Connect
• Contract Insight
• Ketera Contract Management Express
• ProCon

I really should shorten the list to the most effective software based on features, cost, and then on user reviews. Software reviews are generally the best way to make a final decision before purchasing software, especially this type of software.

My next step is to do a little more reading to determine which packages offer the best features and the most value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Ontonagon as well as a number of IT organisations giving this as a service.
