I have spent the last 2 months searching for the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which way to go. A relative of mine briefly worked at Mesa City Government – Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, AZ and he said they never used that type of software and could not make sense of why I want to buy this specific type of software. I tried to show why I need to use contract management software by first explaining what the software does:

Contract management software allows organisations to effectively manage the many types of contracts they engage in. This specific type of software can ensure consistent contracts which displays payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is what contract management software does or at least in my case what I want it to do. There are many reasons for using particular contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• lowers risk
• provides contract clarity

There are more benefits but these are what matters most to me and generally to other organisations.

Software I am researching includes the following:

• Open Windows
• IntelliContract
• Ketera Contract Management Express
• ProCon

I really must reduce the list to the most effective software based on features, cost, and then on online reviews. Product reviews are frequently the quickest way to make the right decision before buying software, especially such important software.

My next step is to do a little more research to work out which packages offer the best features and the most value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Mesa as well as a number of IT companies providing this as a service.
