I have spent the last 2 months investigating the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which program to buy. A colleague of mine briefly worked at Finnair – Cargo Services Bldg in Jamaica, NY and he said they never used that kind of software and could not comprehend why I want to buy this type of software. I tried to show why I would like to use contract management software by first showing what the software is used for:

Contract management software lets companies to efficiently manage the various types of contracts they utilise. This type of software can ensure consistent contracts which shows payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is basically what contract management software does or at a minimum what I am looking for it to do. There are many reasons for using particular contract management software. For example it:

• automatically controls the contract cycle
• facilitates compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides contract clarity

There are other advantages but these are what matters most to me and frequently to other businesses.

Software I am researching includes the following:

• Contract Connect
• Contract Insight
• Softrax
• Accruent

I really have to shorten the list to the most effective software based on features, cost, and then on online reviews. Product reviews are frequently the quickest way to make a good decision before downloading software, especially this kind of software.

My next move is to do a little more reading to determine which packages offer the most features and the greatest value for money. It is quite difficult seeing as there are so many contract management software providers in Jamaica as well as a number of IT organisations providing this as a service.
