I have spent the last few months investigating the best contract management software and am still at a loss as to which way to go. A colleague of mine used to work at Village Of Hamilton in Hamilton, NY and she said they never used that kind of software and could not make sense of why I want to purchase this specific type of software. I tried to show why I want to use contract management software by first explaining what the software is used for:

Contract management software enables organisations to effectively manage the various types of contracts they engage in. This specific type of software can ensure standard contracts which shows payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at least what I would like it to do. There are a number of advantages of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• easily automates the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides clarity

There are other advantages but they are what matters most to me and frequently to other corporations.

Software I am considering includes the following:

• Contract Connect
• Khameleon Software by Oracle
• Softrax
• ProCon

I really have to reduce the list to the most effective software based on features, value, and then on online reviews. Product reviews are generally the best way to make a good decision before buying software, especially such important software.

My next step is to do some more research to work out which packages offer the best features and the most value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are quite a lot of contract management software providers in Hamilton as well as a number of IT companies giving this as a service.
