I have spent the last 2 months looking for the best contract management software and am still unsure as to which way to go. A colleague of mine briefly worked at Western Enterprises in Elkhorn, NE and she said they never used that style of software and could not understand why I want to buy this type of software. I tried to discuss why I would like to use contract management software by first explaining what the software does:

Contract management software enables companies to efficiently manage the different types of contracts they use. This type of software can ensure consistent contracts which displays payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at least in my case what I am looking for it to do. There are a number of reasons for using particular contract management software. For example it:

• automates the contract cycle
• improves compliance on both sides
• reduces the risk
• provides clarity

There are more advantages but they are what matters most to me and generally to other organisations.

Software I am thinking about getting includes the following:

• Open Windows
• Contract Insight
• Ketera Contract Management Express
• ProCon

I really should reduce the list to the best software based on features, cost, and then on customer reviews. Product reviews are often the easiest way to make the right decision before buying software, especially this kind of software.

My next step is to do a little more research to work out which packages offer the most features and the best value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are quite a lot of contract management software providers in Elkhorn as well as a number of IT companies presenting this as a service.
