I have spent the last 2 months searching for the most efficient contract management software and am still not convinced as to which product to get. A colleague of mine briefly worked at The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids, IA and he said they never used that style of software and could not understand why I want to buy this type of software. I tried to discuss why I want to use contract management software by first showing what the software is designed for:

Contract management software enables organisations to effectively manage the many types of contracts they use. This kind of software can ensure consistent contracts which shows payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is effectively what contract management software does or at a minimum what I would like it to do. There are a number of benefits of using particular contract management software. For example it:

• automates the contract cycle
• increases compliance on both sides
• lowers risk
• improves clarity

There are more product advantages but they are what matters most to me and generally to other businesses.

Software I am thinking about getting includes the following:

• Open Windows
• Khameleon Software by Oracle
• Softrax
• Memba Context

I really must reduce the list to the best software based on features, value, and then on user reviews. Product reviews are often the easiest way to make a good decision before downloading software, especially such important software.

My next move is to do a little more reading to work out which programs offer the greatest features and the greatest value for money. It is difficult seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Cedar Rapids as well as a number of IT businesses presenting this as a service.
