I have spent the last couple of months investigating the best contract management software and am still not convinced as to which program to buy. A friend of mine briefly worked at United States Government – Courts Us, Us Magistrate International Airport in Bangor, ME and he said they never used that type of software and could not make sense of why I want to purchase this type of software. I tried to explain why I want to use contract management software by first showing what the software is used for:

Contract management software lets companies to efficiently manage the many types of contracts they utilise. This type of software can ensure very consistent contracts which details payments, deliverables, commitments, and compliance terms of the contract.

So that is what contract management software does or at a minimum what I want it to do. There are many advantages of using purpose built contract management software. For example it:

• automates the contract cycle
• increases compliance on both sides
• reduces risk
• provides contract clarity

There are more benefits but they are what matters most to me and often to other businesses.

Software I am researching includes the following:

• Finetooth
• IntelliContract
• Ketera Contract Management Express
• ProCon

I really must shorten the list to the best software based on features, cost, and then on online reviews. Product reviews are generally the best way to make the right decision before downloading software, especially this type of software.

My next move is to do some more investigating to work out which packages offer the greatest features and the greatest value for money. It is not easy seeing as there are a lot of contract management software providers in Bangor as well as a number of IT organisations presenting this as a service.
